About Stephen

Stephen D’Amelio is a Toronto born - London-based entrepreneur, community leader, award-winning entertainer and advocate with a long history of supporting local businesses, arts, culture, tourism and community development throughout the city.

​

The Son to an Argentinean family, Husband, Dog Owner and accomplished musical act.

​

Since 2019 Stephen has been working at UPS and representing members as a Teamsters Union Steward for local 879, Stephen is known to many as his DJ name - Kevin Evans.

​

Stephen has spent decades building businesses, organizing events, producing media content and creating experiences that bring people together while showcasing London’s talent and creative energy.

​

Over the years, Stephen has worked across various fields including Customer Service, Finance, Collections, Sales, Logistics, Entertainment, Media, Hospitality, Marketing and Event Production. He has have been developing a reputation as a creative thinker, strong promoter and community connector. Through his brands, companies and initiatives including Mighty Love Entertainment, Mixed Fruit Radio Show and numerous community partnerships he has collaborated with local,national and international businesses, charities, artists, festivals and organizations to help strengthen community engagement and economic activity in London’s core.

Stephen is also widely recognized for his volunteer and community involvement. His work has included leadership and volunteer roles with Pride London Festival, LUSO Community Services, London Afrocentric Arts Association (LACA),  City of London Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee. Each time focusing on Bylaws,  Financial Growth, Community events, arts programming and local initiatives focused on inclusion, entertainment, tourism and public engagement. He has consistently used his platform to support local organizations, promote London and it's immense talent and help create opportunities for artists, businesses and community groups across the city.

Throughout his career, Stephen has received recognition from community organizations, the music industry and the City of London for his contributions to entertainment and community engagement. In 2019, he became London’s first openly gay DJ to receive a Forest City London Music Award (FCLMA), helping further establish his reputation as both a trailblazer and advocate within the local arts and entertainment community. He has also received recognition through Pride London and other community organizations for his contributions to entertainment and community leadership.

Receiving recognition federally, provincially and locally for his efforts with LACA and The City of London's DEI Committee Stephen continues to volunteer for organizations today.

​

Having lived in Ward 13 for over a decade, Stephen understands both the opportunities and challenges facing the downtown core and surrounding neighbourhoods. His campaign is focused on practical leadership, responsive city services, safer and healthier communities, economic growth, improved transit, stronger support for local businesses and building a more vibrant and connected Ward 13.

 

Stephen believes London has incredible untapped potential as a UNESCO Music City and cultural destination, and he is passionate about helping the city grow through tourism, arts, entertainment, festivals, business investment and community-driven revitalization.

​

Known for his approachable personality, creativity, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life, Stephen is committed to being a visible, accessible, and responsive voice for Ward 13 — focused on delivering practical solutions, stronger neighbourhoods, and real results for residents, businesses and the future of London.
